[edit]Learnedly, from Ancient Greek ἀποστροφή (apostrophḗ, “turning away from”) from verb ἀποστρέφω (apostréphō, “turn away”) & semantic loan from French aversion. The sense for rhetoric, since Hellenistic period.[1]
