[edit]Learnedly, from Hellenistic Koine Greek ἀλληλεγγύη (allēlengúē, “mutual guarantee”) & semantic loan from French solidarité.[1][2] Morphologically, αλληλ- (allil-, “mutuality: of each other”) + εγγύηση (engýisi, “guarantee”)
