Etymology

From Proto-Turkic *čïk- (to go out, come out). Cognate with Old Turkic [script needed] (čïk-, to go out), Turkish çıkmak, etc.

  1. (intransitive) to go out, to come out

  4. (intransitive) to go up to, to get up on, to rise to, to ascend [with dative ‘on/to’]
    dağa çıxmaqto ascend to the mountain, to go up on the mountain
    dağın başına çıxmaqto go up to the top of the mountain
  5. (intransitive) to rise (of the sun, moon or stars)
    Gün batdı, ay çıxdı.The sun has set, the moon has risen.
