- (transitive) to marry (to give away a woman as a wife)
- Vdasta svoju dceř za súsědova syna.
- They married their daughter to the neighbour's son.
- (reflexive with sě) to marry (of woman, to take a husband)
- Jejú dci sě vda za súsědova syna.
- Their daughter married the neighbour's son.
- (transitive) to give, to hand in
- Tak rozhněvav sě jeho pán, vda jej katóm.
- So his master having got angry gave him to the executioners.
