Emprunts à l’arabe et aux langues du Monde Islamique (in French), Berlin: De Gruyter, →ISBN, page 508, inexact identification with etymological fallacy as Carlina vulgaris and derivation, carried on from yore, from dubious “Andalusi Arabic” **taqarnína (which is actually recorded, but not even from al-Andalus, as قَرْنِينَة (qarnīna)) and this via Berber **taqərnina from unnecessary “Andalusi Romance” *KARLÍNA, but this chain for a term attested in Algerian Berber seems unreasonable.
