Usage notes

[edit]

This word is used of relatively small shops, preferably such where the chocolates are made by hand and where the skill may be attributed to one or few persons. A medium size establishment, or one which sells confectionery produced by others, might be called suklaaliike (chocolate shop) and an industrial scale facility would be suklaatehdas (chocolate factory).
