[edit]Borrowed from Old Church Slavonic стькло (stĭklo), from Proto-Slavic *stьklo, from Gothic 𐍃𐍄𐌹𐌺𐌻𐍃 (stikls). Compare to Serbo-Croatian staklo/стакло, Slovene steklo, Russian стекло́ (stekló) and Bulgarian стъкло́ (stǎkló).
