Etymology

[edit]

An artificial neologism derived from spód with a pseudo-suffix -lé, found only in this word and its variant pòspòdlé, supposedly based on native formations of the sort of ,, pòdolé, which however take a regular suffix derived from Proto-Slavic *-ьje. A correct derivation would be *spodzé, but such form is not atteste.d.[1]
