Etymology
[edit]From Proto-Germanic *sehswintruz. Equivalent to six + -wintre. Attested once, in Genesis 16:16 of the Old English Hexateuch: Hundeahtatiġwintre and sixwintre wæs Ābrahām þā þā Agar him ācende Ismahēl ("Abraham was 86 years old [literally "80 years old and six years old"] when Hagar bore him Ishmael").
