[edit]From Ottoman Turkish صارقمق (ṣarḳmaḳ, “to hang loosely, to drop or lag astern”),[1] from Proto-Turkic *sark- (“to hang loosely, to swing, to drip”),[2][3] morphologically sark- + -aç.
