Etymology
[edit]From Old Swedish sæghia, sighia, from Old Norse segja, from Proto-Germanic *sagjaną, ultimately from Proto-Indo-European *sekʷ-. Cognate with Norwegian Bokmål si, Norwegian Nynorsk seie, Danish sige, German sagen and English say.
