[edit]From pod- + powiadać. Calque of Ukrainian підка́зувати (pidkázuvaty).[1] First attested in 1805.[2]

- (transitive) to clue in, to prompt; to suggest (to give someone an answer to something they either don't know or forgot i.e. on a test) [with dative ‘whom’]
- (transitive) to prompt; to suggest (to lead someone toward what they should say or do) [with dative ‘whom’]
- (reflexive, colloquial, technology) to autosuggest, to fill in automatically (of software etc, to automatically show information in a field)
