[edit]From peng- + lima, old word for “hand” in analogy to penghulu from hulu “head”.

- (archaic, obsolete) adjutant, aide-de-camp or commander-in-chief of an army or a fleet second in immediate authority after a chief executive like a sovereign or tribal leader (penghulu) - archaic form of panglima.
