From Latin parallēlogrammum, from Ancient Greek παραλληλόγραμμον (parallēlógrammon), neuter of παραλληλόγραμμος (parallēlógrammos, limited by parallel lines), from παράλληλος (parállēlos) + γραμμή (grammḗ).
