Non-Slavic cognates include dialectal Norwegian fusa, fjusa, Danish fuse ud (“gush out”) (from Old Norse fýsa (“to urge, desire”)), Latin pustula, Sanskrit पुष्यति (puṣyati, “he flourishes”).
