Usage notes
[edit]Unlike other animate nouns (including kinship terms), this noun is never used with the plural possessive suffix -tomo; instead, the general plural suffix -komo is exceptionally used with its possessed form, with the noun itself also undergoing an irregular vowel change in the plural.
