nem zavartatja magát
Appearance
Hungarian
[edit]Etymology
[edit]Literally, “not to make oneself be bothered / disturbed / embarrassed”, the negative reflexive form of zavartat, the causative of the verb zavar (“to disturb, bother”).
Pronunciation
[edit]Phrase
[edit]- (idiomatic, chiefly in the negative or in questions) to feel free
Usage notes
[edit]- Since it is used chiefly in the negative, its positive form means “not to feel free”, i.e., “to bother”:
- Miért zavartatnád magad? ― Why would you bother?
Conjugation
[edit]- The word nem is replaced with ne in the subjunctive/imperative (and often in the conditional).
- For the verb, see zavartat.
- See magát for the personal endings.
