Etymology
[edit]From Proto-Albanian *ən-darsa, from Proto-Indo-European *dʰers- (“to dare”), an *-s- extension of *dʰer- (“to hold, support”). Cognate with Ancient Greek θαρσεῖν (tharseîn, “to dare”), Sanskrit धृष् (dhṛṣ, “be bold”), Lithuanian drąsa (“courage”), English dare.
