[edit]From Proto-Albanian *makā, which has entered the declension of the feminine -eh₂-stems, from Proto-Indo-European *mh₂ek- (“wet, moist”). Cognate to Serbo-Croatian mȍkar (“wet”), Lithuanian makõnė (“mud”).
