Etymology

Inherited from Ottoman Turkish مستریح (müsteriḥ, resting, at ease; that perceives smell; shaking with the wind; inclined; dead),[1][2] from Arabic مُسْتَرِيح (mustarīḥ), active participle of اِسْتَرَاحَ (istarāḥa, to rest, to relax, to take a break).[3]
