  1. (law, historical) civil rights, civil good standing (the full rights of a citizen in good standing such as voting, eligibility for office, serving as a witness, etc.)

Usage notes

Historically, a person could be sentenced to forfeit their civil good standing as an additional judicial penalty for serious offences. This penalty still appears in the Finnish Criminal Code but is now a dead letter.
