From New Latin, from Late Latin gonorrhoea, from Ancient Greek γονόρροια (gonórrhoia), from γόνος (gónos, sperm, seed, offspring) + ῥοία (rhoía, flow) (ca. 1526). By surface analysis, gono- +‎ -rrhea.
