[edit]Inherited from Ottoman Turkish كزندی (gezindi, gezinti, “a corridor, place where there is much walking, an idle stroller”),[1] from Ottoman Turkish كزنمك (gezinmek, “to go about without a definite purpose”) or Ottoman Turkish كزینمك (gezinmek),[2] from Ottoman Turkish كزمك (gezmek, “to move or travel about in, to go about or lounge about”), from Proto-Turkic *keŕ- (to wander, to walk through),[3][4] morphologically gez- + -in + -ti.
