Inherited from Ottoman Turkish گلمك (gelmek, to come), from Proto-Turkic *kẹl-mek (to come). Cognate with Old Turkic 𐰚𐰠 (kel-, to come), Karakhanid کَلْماكْ (kelmēk, to come).
