[edit]Etymology
[edit]From Middle High German vliezen, from Old High German fliozan, from Proto-West Germanic *fleutan, from Proto-Germanic *fleutaną, akin to English fleet (verb), Old Saxon fliotan and Dutch vlieten.
Pronunciation
[edit]Verb
[edit]fließen (class 2 strong, third-person singular present fließt, past tense floss, past participle geflossen, past subjunctive flösse, auxiliary sein)
