[edit]Etymology
[edit]Inherited from Ottoman Turkish فسقیه (fıskiye), from Arabic فِسْقِيَّة (fisqiyya). According to Nishanyan, the word is derived from the onomatopoeic word fıs, fış (cfr. fışkırmak) with the addition of the suffix -iye, and hence the Arabic word would be derived from the Turkish one.
