[edit]From Ottoman Turkish طیشاری (ṭışarı), from طیش (ṭış, “outside, exterior”). Equivalent to dış + -arı. Compare Old Turkic [script needed] (taš, “exterior”), from Proto-Turkic *daĺ- (“outer side”).[1] Doublet of taşra. Cognate with Kyrgyz тышкары (tışkarı), Azerbaijani dışarı.
