[edit]From Old Galician-Portuguese conosco, cõnosco, connosco, from com (“with”) + Old Galician-Portuguese nosco (“with us”). Noscum is attested in the Appendix Probi as a 'vulgar' form of Latin nobiscum. Displaced Old Portuguese nosco.
