[edit]Etymology
[edit]Inherited from Vulgar Latin root *clagum, from metathesis of Latin coāgulum (cf. the contracted Late Latin form quaglum, found in some manuscripts). Cognate with Aromanian cljag. A late Eastern Romance (or earlier Romanian) form was borrowed into Ukrainian ґляґ (gljag), dialectal Polish klag,[1] dialectal Russian гляк (gljak), гляканка (gljakanka). Doublet of coagul, a borrowing.
