- For the spam whitelist, see MediaWiki:Spam-whitelist.
This “whitelist voting” page is a mechanism for proposing and publicizing the addition of a user to one of the following groups:
The principle is to have as “lightweight” a vote as possible without succumbing to any one person’s whims. The existence and purpose of this page were made official by Wiktionary:Votes/pl-2008-09/Whitelisted users autopatrol; the details of its functioning are fairly well established now, but still not official per se.

Procedural notes
Procedure:
- One administrator nominates a user for a particular user group.
- A second administrator approves the nomination and adds that user to the proposed group using Special:UserRights.
- Any administrator can recommend a defer to a nomination; after a week, the nomination may be repeated.
Archiving:
The guidelines are: remove entries here that are stagnant for two or more weeks. Remove whitelisted entries after a couple of days.
