Main page redesign

• Voting on: Whether to use the Main page redesign temporarily, starting on 10 December 2007 00:01 UTC so that it is in place for 12 December: Wiktionary Day. To then remain through the rest of December, so we can get feedback and have a more usual 30-day vote. (If that vote trends positive, it would not be reverted along the way.)

I'll be moving the page in, with the necessary corollary adjustments, sometime tomorrow morning, so it is in place when Wiktionary day (the 12th) arrives in the Pacific ;-) Robert Ullmann 08:02, 10 December 2007 (UTC)

• Since this may or may not be temporary, I've moved the redesign to Wiktionary:Main page in anticipation of redirecting :Main page and MediaWiki:Mainpage there instead of Wiktionary:Main Page (note caps). That way we'll be able to keep the old page on standby and the transition will be instantaneous and smooth. DAVilla 04:45, 5 December 2007 (UTC)

  Ak! The current main page looks just fine even without __NOTOC__ __NOEDITSECTION__ but Wiktionary:Main page does not. It still has the H1 info fact. Is there something magical about the title? DAVilla 05:02, 5 December 2007 (UTC)
