[edit]Potentially attested as quarsingseli in 805, attested with certainty as vuesinga in the middle of the 12th century. Probably a compound of Old Dutch Wesso (a personal name) or Hwatso (a personal name) with collectivising suffix -ing- and seli (“hall house”).
