Babel
[edit]Have a look at Wiktionary:Babel. Some of the boxes don't work yet, If you need one of the boxes that don't work let me know and I will try to get it for you. If you have trouble with it give me a list of the languages you speak and I'll add the boxes for you. Gerard Foley 19:31, 4 January 2006 (UTC)
Re: 甘い
[edit]Hi there. I checked 甘い and found that the user 219.101.154.162 who added the definitions on amai would have committed a copyright violation. They are almost literal translation of defs in an authoritative Japanese monolingual dictionary, with the identical order of the seven items. We seem to have to rewrite the entry.
Dictionaries say that 旨い/うまい tasty is also spelled as 甘い though I can't remember the actual examples (probably a common spelling in classical Japanese, now rare). うまい and あまい are never the same words, but 甘い serves both, thus you can call it a heteronym. --Tohru 03:58, 3 February 2006 (UTC)
