[edit]Hello, welcome to Wiktionary, and thank you for your contributions so far.
If you are unfamiliar with wiki-editing, take a look at Help:How to edit a page. It is a concise list of technical guidelines to the wiki format we use here: how to, for example, make text boldfaced or create hyperlinks. Feel free to practice in the sandbox. If you would like a slower introduction we have a short tutorial.
These links may help you familiarize yourself with Wiktionary:
- Entry layout (EL) is a detailed policy on Wiktionary's page formatting; all entries must conform to it. The easiest way to start off is to copy the contents of an existing same-language entry, and then adapt it to fit the entry you are creating.
- Check out Language considerations to find out more about how to edit for a particular language.
- Our Criteria for Inclusion (CFI) defines exactly which words can be added to Wiktionary; the most important part is that Wiktionary only accepts words that have been in somewhat widespread use over the course of at least a year, and citations that demonstrate usage can be asked for when there is doubt.
- If you already have some experience with editing our sister project Wikipedia, then you may find our guide for Wikipedia users useful.
- If you have any questions, bring them to Wiktionary:Information desk or ask me on my talk page.
- Whenever commenting on any discussion page, please sign your posts with four tildes (
~~~~
) which automatically produces your username and timestamp. - You are encouraged to add a BabelBox to your userpage to indicate your self-assessed knowledge of languages.
Comparatives and superlatives
[edit]Could you please stop creating those robotically? certativissime is not attested on Google Books. Canonicalization (talk) 16:59, 15 August 2019 (UTC)
- I’m very sorry, I’ll be more careful next time. I marked both pages for deletion. Latisc (talk) 17:07, 15 August 2019 (UTC)
- BTW, you should now use
{{la-adv-comp}}
and{{la-adv-sup}}
to create comparative and superlative adverbs. Benwing2 (talk) 01:59, 23 August 2019 (UTC)
Using the language tag in pronunciation entries
[edit]Hello Latisc! I see that you've been adding IPA pronunciations to a number of entries lately. When you do this, remember to use the correct language code in the IPA template: for a German word like Waisenhaus, that means using IPA|de|/ˈvaɪ̯zn̩ˌhaʊ̯s/ rather than using "la" after the IPA part. When you use the IPA|la| pronunciation template, it causes the pronunciation to be miscategorized as a Latin pronunciation!--Urszag (talk) 10:12, 6 October 2019 (UTC)
- I’m sorry, I didn’t realize I was using the incorrect language code. Thank you for telling me, though. Latisc (talk) 11:23, 6 October 2019 (UTC)
- Recently, Benwing's bot has been automatically updating pages with that IPA template so that it consistently takes a language code as its first parameter. I think that this format is supposed to be more consistent with the format of other templates, such as "audio"; that might help you remember it. I think I've fixed all of the pronunciations that had been put into the Latin categories. Don't worry, I've also made mistakes like this. --Urszag (talk) 12:03, 6 October 2019 (UTC)
Aussprachedateien
[edit]Hallo Latisc, könntest Du bitte bei Neuanlage eines Lemmas prüfen, ob eine Aussprachedatei existiert und nicht automatenhaft die Vorlage
benutzen. Beispielsweise existieren
für SanitätswesenAudio: (file)
für SanitätsoffizierAudio: (file)
für StabsarztAudio: (file)
für Rationalität.Audio: (file)
Vielen Dank für Deine Unterstützung. Jeuwre 11ː23, 2 November 2019 (UTC)
- Vielen Dank für den Hinweis. Ich wusste nicht, dass Aussprachedateien für nichtexistierende Begriffe schon existieren. Darauf werde ich in Zukunft achten. Latisc (talk) 11:40, 2 November 2019 (UTC)
We sent you an e-mail
[edit]Hello Latisc,
Really sorry for the inconvenience. This is a gentle note to request that you check your email. We sent you a message titled "The Community Insights survey is coming!". If you have questions, email surveys@wikimedia.org.
You can see my explanation here.
accelerated creation of incorrect non-lemma forms
[edit]Hi. I notice you have created quite a lot of non-lemma forms for German nouns. Many of them are wrong; e.g. Nerden per all dictionaries is not a valid form of Nerd. You are a native speaker of German so I'm surprised you don't notice the mistakes. I would recommend not doing this in the future. Benwing2 (talk) 02:37, 27 February 2022 (UTC)
- Hello Benwing2, thanks for letting me know. I probably used my tool that automatically adds inflection tables, since applying it again yields the same result. Sorry for not having checked the forms afterwards. I will better do it manually from now on. --Latisc (talk) 09:35, 27 February 2022 (UTC)
