• Entry layout (EL) is a detailed policy on Wiktionary's page formatting; all entries must conform to it. The easiest way to start off is to copy the contents of an existing same-language entry, and then adapt it to fit the entry you are creating.

• Our Criteria for Inclusion (CFI) defines exactly which words can be added to Wiktionary; the most important part is that Wiktionary only accepts words that have been in somewhat widespread use over the course of at least a year, and citations that demonstrate usage can be asked for when there is doubt.
• If you already have some experience with editing our sister project Wikipedia, then you may find our guide for Wikipedia users useful.

Literary Chinese

Hi - it doesn't make sense to label a Vietnamese term as Literary Chinese, which is a different language. Theknightwho (talk) 18:40, 20 July 2023 (UTC)

Hello @Theknightwho,

我 ngã with the meaning "I" is not found in the Vietnamese language. That usage is only found in Literary Chinese texts (which is not written in Vietnamese).

Normally ngã means to fall in Vietnamese. But for the Hán reading should be listed as Literary Chines since that sense is not found at all in any Vietnamese texts. Lachy70 (talk) 18:42, 20 July 2023 (UTC)

I know, but you can't label it "Literary Chinese" under the Vietnamese header, because Literary Chinese is not a form of Vietnamese. Plus it needs to go through WT:RFV. Theknightwho (talk) 18:43, 20 July 2023 (UTC)

It should not be listed as archaic as that is misleading, since 我 ngã was never used for "I" in Vietnamese. Lachy70 (talk) 18:44, 20 July 2023 (UTC)
