Translations

Please stop adding translations from or to languages other than those you speak fluently/have very good knowledge of! I removed your translations from bygone and particular. They had wrong German translations and some others seemed suspicious as well. Do not copy and paste from other webpages! Only add information you are absolutely sure about. Language names in the Translations section are arranged alphabetically. Ncik 13:59, 5 March 2006 (UTC)

The Vietnamese word danh từ means "noun", not "politician". Now that the Vietnamese Wiktionary's more developed, you can usually consult its corresponding entries for translations, though you'll have to watch out if there's more than one definition for a particular word. Other online sources – particularly websters-online-dictionary.org – have terrible translations, so look for sites that were developed by Vietnamese speakers, not dictionary collectors. – Minh Nguyễn (talk, contribs) 09:49, 3 December 2006 (UTC)

Rohingya

Latin is only written with macrons by modern editors to help students. These marks are not part of the language itself and thus are not used as page names here. You can show the macrons within the page itself, cf. nudus and the Etymology section of nude. Widsith 10:46, 21 December 2007 (UTC)

Pronunciations

Please note that the apostrophe and colon are not used in IPA pronuciations. They look similar to the primary stress and vowel length marker in some fonts, but not in others. See this change, for instance. --EncycloPetey 01:09, 3 March 2008 (UTC)

That depends on how you insert characters. I use the Edittools which appear at the bottom of the edit window. There is a set for IPA characters there. I don't know the Unicode values. --EncycloPetey 01:18, 3 March 2008 (UTC)

Hiya. Be a bit careful: when Chambers says "Greek" it means what we would call "Ancient Greek". You can use {{etyl|grc}} in the etymology. Also, you shouldn't wiki-link these Greek words unless you are actually using the Greek alphabet. Widsith 16:54, 9 July 2008 (UTC)

p.s. And you should use |lang=ar on templates such as "zoology" to stop the words being added to an English category.
