Forms in -sten

[edit]

Why does this work with e.g. "jüngste", but not "jüngsten". "Jüngsten" is not simply the superlative of "jung", as we now falsely say, it is an inflected form just like "jüngste" or "jüngster", precisely analogous to "jungen" and "jüngeren". In "am jüngsten" we have the contraction "am" followed by the weak dative neuter superlative of "jung". 92.218.236.55 09:03, 13 October 2024 (UTC)Reply

Order of forms with suffix -en

[edit]

In my opinion, the list of forms would be better arranged like this:

  • 1. all-declension accusative masculine singular
  • 2. strong genitive masculine/neuter singular
  • 3. strong dative plural
  • 4. weak/mixed genitive/dative all-gender singular
  • 5. weak/mixed all-case plural
