Template:grc-adj-2nd/documentation
{{grc-adj-2nd}}
and {{grc-adj-3rd}}
generate headword lines for Ancient Greek adjectives whose forms are in the second or the third declension respectively. Module:grc-headword and Module:headword process the parameters and create the displayed text.
In these adjectives, there are two forms: the common (masculine and feminine) form and the neuter form. Both forms are in the same declension. For example, ἀληθής (alēthḗs) has a masculine and feminine form ᾰ̓ληθής (alēthḗs) and a neuter form ᾰ̓ληθές (alēthés); both are declined in the third declension. ἄδικος (ádikos) has a masculine and feminine form ᾰ̓́δῐκος (ádikos) and a neuter form ᾰ̓́δῐκον (ádikon), both of which belong to the second declension.
Parameters
[edit]Numbered parameters
[edit]The two possible numbered parameters are the headword and the neuter form. They must be Greek characters, or in the case of the neuter, a hyphen (-
) indicating the form is unattested.
The headword is only allowed if the title contains vowels whose length is ambiguous – the monophthongs α, ι, υ (a, i, u) without macrons, breves, circumflexes, or iotas subscript (◌̄, ◌̆, ◌͂, ◌ͅ). The neuter is required.
