Usage

This template may be used on Wiktionary entry pages to quote from a collection of Samuel Taylor Coleridge's works entitled The Poetical and Dramatic Works of Samuel Taylor Coleridge (1880, 4 volumes). It can be used to create a link to online versions of the work at the Internet Archive:

Parameters

The template takes the following parameters:

• |1= or |volume= – mandatory: the volume number quoted from in uppercase Roman numerals, from |volume=I to |volume=IV.
• |2=, |chapter=, |poem=, or |title= – mandatory in some cases: the name of the chapter, play, or poem quoted from. If quoting from one of the titles indicated in the second column of the following table, give the parameter the value indicated in the first column:

In some cases, the template can determine the title quoted from if the page number is specified.

• |act= and |scene= – if quoting from a play, the act number in uppercase Roman numerals and (if applicable) the scene number in lowercase Roman numerals.
• |stanza= – if quoting from a poem divided into stanzas, the stanza number quoted from in uppercase Roman numerals.
• |3= or |page=, or |pages= – mandatory in some cases: the page number(s) quoted from. When quoting a range of pages, note the following:
  • Separate the first and last pages of the range with an en dash, like this: |pages=10–11.
  • You must also use |pageref= to specify the page number that the template should link to (usually the page on which the Wiktionary entry appears).

This parameter must be specified to have the template determine the part of the work quoted from, and to link to an online version of the work.

In volume II, after page 354 there is a supplement paginated as pages 355*–364*. Thereafter, the pagination resumes with page 355. If quoting from the supplement, add an asterisk to the end of the page number, like this: |page=355*.

• |4=, |text=, or |passage= – a passage quoted from the work.
• |footer= – a comment on the passage quoted.
• |brackets= – use |brackets=on to surround a quotation with brackets. This indicates that the quotation either contains a mere mention of a term (for example, "some people find the word manoeuvre hard to spell") rather than an actual use of it (for example, "we need to manoeuvre carefully to avoid causing upset"), or does not provide an actual instance of a term but provides information about related terms.
