[Brazilian] Portuguese pronunciation

[edit]

Some Brazilian dictionaries prescribe a pronunciation two syllables, and stress on the second syllable: ru-im', [ʁuˈĩ] or [ʁũˈĩ] in Wiktionary's IPA transcription (the latter maybe being more colloquial). Can this pronunciation be added? Further, the page currently lists [ˈʁuj̃] as a standard pronunciation, as opposed to [ˈʁũj̃]. Is the nasalized [u] really enough to be perceived differently within a diphthong? I'd say both [ˈʁuj̃] [ˈʁũj̃] are just as "nonstandard". Polomo47 (talk) 15:16, 13 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
