I think that's a typo for mwasi (rebel) consisting of noun marker mw- plus -asi, to rebel). tbm (talk) 06:45, 6 March 2023 (UTC)

@tbm, according to what I find on the internet, the plural form is definitely waasi. Where did you get wasi? MuDavid 栘𩿠 (talk) 03:51, 15 March 2023 (UTC)

@MuDavid Great point, that was a mistake. But that's just the plural of mwasi and doesn't mean mwaasi exists. tbm (talk) 07:17, 15 March 2023 (UTC)

I found three semi-acceptable quotations. We can discuss whether they are truly durably archived and the evangelist author seems to always use it after another noun, but in my opinion they are sufficient to show that mwaasi is not just a typo. As for the etymology, it isn’t unheard of for nouns to be derived with the -a particle in between, see chakula. MuDavid 栘𩿠 (talk) 02:33, 5 April 2023 (UTC)
