Weak keep, or redirect (with {{senseid}}) to mal, noun, sense 3; I've added it as a usex there. I think this is a set phrase. 2A02:2788:A4:205:29FF:D95E:382C:FD20 13:26, 21 December 2020 (UTC)

Delete, SOP. If kept, I think a better translation is “the evil is done”. (For “the damage is done”, I’d say, les dégâts sont faits.)  --Lambiam 13:50, 21 December 2020 (UTC)

"the evil is done" is a literal translation of "le mal est fait", but it doesn't work, at least not always. "evil" seems to me to be strongly connoted, while "mal" in "le mal est fait" often is, imo, rather milder (see for example here); that's why "the damage is done" can be a correct translation (though probably not always either). 2A02:2788:A4:205:29FF:D95E:382C:FD20 14:31, 21 December 2020 (UTC)

Keep. This is an expression with a specific meaning, not strictly a SOP (it is pretty much equivalent to the English "the damage is done"). We also have it in Portuguese, btw: "o mal está feito". --Waldyrious (talk) 16:41, 21 December 2020 (UTC)
