@PhanAnh123, do you know the origin of this phrase? I’d guess it could be calqued from Chinese 風吹雨打 / 风吹雨打 (fēngchuīyǔdǎ), but I don’t know really. MuDavid 栘𩿠 (talk) 01:58, 3 March 2023 (UTC)

Looking around a bit, I can't find anything concrete regarding its origin. It's attested in Truyện Kiều, which means it should be subjected to many commentaries and annotations, but sites I saw don't seem to say whether it's a calque or not, and from which phrase (I don't have a commentary for Truyện Kiều at hand, so I relied on Internet sources). Gió táp mưa sa in one of its meanings "having great creative drive, being producive artistically" is said to be from some 風雨吹詩思 / 风雨吹诗思 (“wind and rain propels poetic ideas”) that is also not clearly stated in terms of origin. As for this second meaning, do you know of any other authors who use this expression with the meaning of “great creative drive”? All the mentions I find online of that meaning cite the one same verse in Truyện Kiều, and according to at least one author, this is not the correct interpretation.
