Why is there a nasal infix in the first place? It wasn't a productive grammatical feature in Latin. —CodeCat 16:54, 8 June 2017 (UTC)Reply
Sorry, I was wrong anyway, nothing to do with verrūca. It comes from verrō (to sweep). Here's what De Vaan says (verro, page 666): "probably derived from a noun *verruncus < *wrs-on-ko-, which itself presupposes an n-stem *wrs-on- (who sweeps, wards off)". --Barytonesis (talk) 17:02, 8 June 2017 (UTC)Reply
