{{named-after}}
[edit]@Donnanz It categorizes the page to CAT:English eponyms automatically. — justin(r)leung { (t...) | c=› } 14:04, 3 May 2018 (UTC)
- @Justinrleung: I prefer the wording "Named after" rather than just "After", which would appear to be a deficiency in the template somewhere. DonnanZ (talk) 14:16, 3 May 2018 (UTC)
- @Donnanz: I agree. "Named" was originally there, but it was removed. @Ungoliant MMDCCLXIV, I think it would be more intuitive to have "named". Why did you think it's not used in most cases? — justin(r)leung { (t...) | c=› } 14:27, 3 May 2018 (UTC)
- I don’t remember. Maybe I had adjectives in mind (it would be odd to say that Quixotic is named afted someone). — Ungoliant (falai) 14:30, 3 May 2018 (UTC)
- @Ungoliant MMDCCLXIV: But the template is called "named-after" anyway, so do you think "named" should be there by default? — justin(r)leung { (t...) | c=› } 14:36, 3 May 2018 (UTC)
- No opinion. I won’t complain if you change it. — Ungoliant (falai) 14:41, 3 May 2018 (UTC)
- @Justinrleung: If it's changed back to read "Named after" I have no objection to its use; I wasn't aware of the eponym function. As an aside, quixotic is "derived from", not "named after". DonnanZ (talk) 16:10, 3 May 2018 (UTC)
