Etym

[edit]

Previously claimed this was a feminine form of पालक (bed) but neither the provided sourced nor our entries support that or even offer it as sense of that word. The nearest form of "bed" is पलंग (palaṅg). However, certainly ultimately a derivative of पल्यङ्क (palyaṅka), which already meant litter/palanquin, like our entry on palki points out.

@AryamanA, do you have any source for the etym or even पालक (pālak) meaning bed? If so, could you use it to create that sense on its page? — LlywelynII 23:07, 30 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
