Sanskrit

@Fay Freak कटुकफल (kaṭukaphala) (nom. sg. कटुकफलम् (kaṭukaphalam)) probably has no connection. It's a transparent compound कटुक (kaṭuka, “pungent, bitter”) +‎ फल (phala, “fruit”), and I can't find any descendants (indeed, in Monier-Williams it is marked with "L.", meaning it is only attested in dictionaries and not in text). The normal Sanskrit word for "clove" is लवङ्ग (lavaṅga). —Aryaman^{A (मुझसे बात करें • योगदान)} 22:54, 4 September 2018 (UTC)
