Difficult to say. These borrowings from French exist equally in Armenian and Turkish, usually in the same form. Armenians in Constantinople and Smyrna knew French, probably more than the Turks did. For example, I could attest մէրսի (mersi) in Armeno-Turkish but not regular Turkish. Vahag (talk) 11:03, 18 January 2025 (UTC)
