@Vahagn Petrosyan See the entry for Arabic شَبُّوط (šabbūṭ), an Aramaic borrowing, explained from an Aramaic word. These fishes do not look too dissimilar, but I have rarely read into ichthyology, or would I know how fish terms spread. Fay Freak (talk) 11:24, 8 September 2019 (UTC)Reply
