Talk:червень
Add topic@Wikitiki89: Hi, it's an old edit but do you have a source for it - diff? I have RFV'ed it.
(Notifying Benwing2, Cinemantique, KoreanQuoter, Useigor, Wanjuscha, Wikitiki89, Stephen G. Brown, Per utramque cavernam, Guldrelokk): : I don't think Russian uses Slavic names of months. The popular, dialectal and even Old East Slavic don't include "червень", see also w:ru:Древнеславянский календарь. -Anatoli T. (обсудить/вклад) 01:57, 28 June 2018 (UTC)
- Your link does not work, Anatoli. Do you mean w:ru:Древнеславянский календарь? —Stephen (Talk) 04:52, 28 June 2018 (UTC)
- Yes, thank you, Stephen! It's now in WT:RFVN#червень. --Anatoli T. (обсудить/вклад) 05:02, 28 June 2018 (UTC)

Verifying if the term is/was used in Russian, definition: (archaic) June. --Anatoli T. (обсудить/вклад) 02:02, 28 June 2018 (UTC)
ESSJa mentions Old Russian and Russian Church Slavonic чьрвенъ, червенъ 'July', and Russian червень 'June'.--Cinemantique (talk) 02:39, 28 June 2018 (UTC)
- Thank you, Cinemantique. Mention is a good start but we will need citations. Interesting that the dictionary says "the month of June in western gubernias", i.e. modern Ukraine and Belarus. Did they consider Ukrainian че́рвень (čérvenʹ) and Belarusian чэ́рвень (čérvjenʹ) Russian terms? --Anatoli T. (обсудить/вклад) 04:34, 28 June 2018 (UTC)
